Dive Centre emails

As an Instructor or Dive Centre Manager or Owner you will be receiving lots of enquiries every day, if you work in a popular dive location. As an example of what you may receive we include some typical enquires below to make you think about how best to respond to them:
[Enquiry 1] I sent you the photo yet the certification isn’t showing on my credentials and I haven’t received letter letting me know they have a current photo on file. that would also be fine to use can you do this ? otherwise cancelling my dive trip now I lose quite a lot of money but I cannot dive if I don’t have the certificate I understand
[Enquiry 2]  Hi, we had the opportunity to visit your dive center recently but you wasn’t there, I was told you had the day off,  I’m  interested to send you my cv to introduce myself.
I am an OWSI Padi, at the moment living in the UK. I did in Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt to take my PADI IDC  and I started working over there for some diving centers, my main tasks were leading dives for international guests, teaching Discover Scuba Diving, Padi Scuba Diver and PADI Open Water Diver.  I also led snorkeling trip on board and any kind of tasks on board to assist divers and colleagues. My first experience  was as Divemaster in Thailand. I led cave and cavern diving first  but I also worked as Snorkeling Guide,  in filling tanks operations  and front office tasks when needed.

I have a quiet nature and I love interacting with others. I like very much having a coffee with friends after work, talking to them in front of the sea, as much as reading a book. I don’t smoke nor drink alcohol and I like swimming and hiking, but my first desire is travelling. I like so much sidemount diving. I am an hard worker, I don’t look at the watch when I love what I’m doing. I like teaching for I hope I can inspire my students to love diving and the sea as I do.

I am a young instructor, so I am looking for a position that allows me to gain much experience in teaching every courses, for this reason I am willing to consider every job offer you believe suitable to my experience.

I would like to find a job in Mexico or Caribbeans this year because I have a particular interest  about the region,  the Caribbean Sea as well as the Pacific coast. Hoping  my curriculum vitae could be interesting for you, I’m willing for any other explanation you need about it.

[Enquiry 3] I was on your dive trip yesterday and may have left my snorkel on the boat, can you post it back to me, address supplied

[Enquiry 4] Can you give me your best price to make me an Instructor, I haven’t dived before but it looks great.

[Enquiry 5] I’m writing you to show my interest and availability in working with your dive centre. I am a PADI Staff Instructor (with over 200 certs + 300 DSDs) and Tec Deep Diver, who moved around the world for over 15 years, with 3 years diving experience in Dominican Republic (over 800 dives in Bayahibe and Bavaro) and also in areas such as Mexico (Cozumel and Progreso, salt water and cenotes), Honduras (Roatan), Chile (Quintay), Portugal (Vilamoura) and Maldives (Lhaviyani Atoll), which gave me insight of different underwater ecosystems and diving conditions. I have been working steadily to go through diving education up until now. Currently I am looking to expand my boundaries, challenge myself, and seek new encounters with a different variety of customers, and business.

I do have knowledge/certifications such as:

– IT and Electronics, Electrical and Hydraulics (BTEC 3 Mechanical Engineering)
– Fluent in 4 languages (teaching level): English, German. French, Spanish
– Boat Handling & maintenance, Equipment maintenance
– IT and Accounting Background
– Costumer Service Orientation/Sales
– Live aboard experience in luxury yachts

Before becoming a professional in the dive industry, I spend around 10 years within the Cruise line industry with assignments such as Guests Services Officer, F&B Manager, Bar Manager, and Financial Controller.

While onboard the large ships I´ve achieved and developed skills like patience, dealing as a liaison between multiple departments, scheduling to maximize time and efficiency, and management expertise with regards to staffing departments as needed. I also have a keen knowledge of working in remote areas.

I consider myself to be a very communicative and open minded person. During my travels and culture studies I learned to deal with people from different cultural backgrounds.

Based on this I understand diving not as a purely recreational activity but as a chance to study and therefore conserve the marine habitat. As a Dive Professional I start to have the chance to share knowledge about marine life and inspire divers to appreciate the richness of marine life and treasure it.

My ability to create a pleasing and safe atmosphere for clientele whilst supporting a dive operation in Dominican Republic, resulted in positive feedback and praised professionalism which has been shown in Review sites like Trip Advisor, I was able to assist first time divers up to Divemaster level as well.

Although I was raised in Ireland, I’ve had the good fortune to travel extensively and live abroad for extended periods over the years. For example, I lived in Kenya for two years, and I’ve spent time in Chile, Korea, South Africa, around Europe, USA and much of Baltic and White Sea.

I am very interested in hearing about any employment opportunities you have. Additionally, I am willing to work in a variety of capacities, and I look forward to hearing what possibilities you may have to offer within my skills and education.
